Birth Trauma Secondary to Use of Forceps - Medical Illustration, Human Anatomy Drawing
This stock medical exhibit illustrates birth trauma secondary to the use of forceps. A small inferior view of the female pelvis is given for orientation. The condition of asynclitism is depicted in a closeup pelvic view, and the incorrect placement of forceps is portrayed in a lateral cut-away view. The resulting trauma, including a swollen and bruised right face, a dent in the right side of the forehead, and a damaged cornea, is then demonstrated using an anterior view of the baby's head and a cut-away view of the eye.
